How to use green screen (chroma key) in CapCut

Updated 6 steps2 min read

Short answer

Put your new background on the main track and the green-screen clip on an overlay track above it. Select the overlay, open Remove BG > Chroma key, use the colour picker on the green, then raise Intensity and adjust Shadow (and edge controls on desktop) until the green disappears cleanly.

Questions people ask

Why is my CapCut chroma key not working?

Usually the wrong clip is selected or the green isn't evenly lit. Select the overlay, re-pick the colour and adjust Intensity and Shadow.

Do I need a real green screen?

No. Remove BG > Auto removal works without one, but chroma key on an even green gives cleaner edges.

Can I use a blue screen?

Yes; pick the blue with the colour picker.
