✳ THUMBNAIL PROBLEMS
Thumbnail / cover image is rejected or cropped wrong - causes and fixes
Each destination has its own thumbnail / cover size and aspect. The filename and even the source dimensions are not enough; the placement preview (feed card, profile grid, share card) is what decides the framing. Verify the placement and export a cover that respects that crop.
Check these first
- Confirm the destination's current cover image size for the exact surface (feed / share / grid).
- Preview the cover in the placement, not just in the file browser.
- Check that important content (face, title) sits inside the placement's safe area.
Likely causes
- Cover dimensions do not match the placement
A square cover on a 16:9 placement is letterboxed or cropped.
- Cover file is below the destination's resolution requirement
Some destinations require a minimum pixel size for cover images.
Fix it
- Export a cover matching the placement's aspect and minimum size
Use the destination's current cover spec; export from the editor.
Export a cover matching the placement's aspect and minimum size - Verify by previewing the placement
Upload a copy and view the placement; reposition if the framing is wrong.
Prepare a copy in Koldflux, review its output and check the current destination requirements before publishing.
