CapCut export stuck at 1%, 99% or in between? CapCut's own fixes
Short answer
Where CapCut stops tells you why. Stuck at 1% means a problem at the very start of the render: a damaged clip or effect early in the timeline, export settings the device can't handle, or low memory. Stuck at 99% usually means the video rendered but can't be saved: low storage, a damaged file, or CapCut lacking permission to write. Duplicate the project before you start changing things.
Key takeaways
- Stuck at 1%: the problem is at the very start of the render, such as a damaged clip or effect early in the timeline, demanding settings or low resources (CapCut Help).
- Stuck at 99%: the video has usually rendered but cannot be saved, because of low storage, damaged media or missing permission to save (CapCut Help).
- CapCut's fixes: lower the export to 1080p or a lower frame rate, export shorter segments, free storage, restart, update.
- On PC, hardware encoding conflicts with GPU drivers can stop exports; turning hardware encoding off is the test.
- Duplicate the project before deleting clips to find the one that blocks the export.
Find your case
| What you see | What it usually means | Do this |
|---|---|---|
| Stops at 1% | Damaged clip/effect at the start, heavy settings, low memory | Test the start of the timeline; lower settings (step 2) |
| Stops at 99% | Can't save: storage, permissions, damaged media | Free space, check permissions (step 3) |
| Stops at the same middle percentage | One clip or effect at that point | Export halves to find it (step 4) |
| Web version fails on long projects | Browser memory or connection | Export segments (step 5) |
| Desktop export fails with effects | Hardware encoding conflict | Turn off hardware encoding (step 6) |
| 100% but no file | Save location or permission | Check the export folder and permissions |
Fix it step by step
Duplicate the project first
CapCut suggests duplicating the project and exporting from the copy, so tests can't damage your edit.
Stuck at 1%: check the start
Temporarily delete the first few clips or effects and export again; lower resolution or frame rate (1080p instead of 4K); restart CapCut and the device.
Stuck at 99%: make room and allow saving
Free several GB, allow CapCut to access storage (phone settings) or pick another export folder (desktop), and in the browser allow downloads from CapCut.
Find the clip that blocks the export
Export the first half and the second half separately. The half that fails contains the problem; split again until you find the clip or effect, then replace it.
Web: export in segments
CapCut Online renders in the cloud and needs a stable connection; large or 4K projects can exceed browser limits. Clear the browser cache, update the browser and export shorter parts.
Desktop: turn off hardware encoding
Hardware encoding conflicts with GPU drivers can stall exports. CapCut: Settings → Performance, turn off hardware acceleration, then export.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my CapCut export stuck at 99%?
The video usually finished rendering but can't be saved: low storage, missing storage permission or a damaged clip. Free space, allow storage access and export again.
Why does CapCut stop at 1%?
Something at the start of the timeline or the export settings. Remove the first clips or effects to test, and lower resolution or frame rate.
Should I reinstall CapCut?
Only after the other fixes, and back up your drafts first. CapCut lists reinstalling as a later step.
Why is my CapCut export stuck at 30%?
Something at about that point in the timeline is blocking the render: a damaged clip, an effect or a heavy overlay. Export the part before it and the part after it to find the clip, then replace it.
Why is my CapCut export stuck at 100%?
The render finished but saving did not. Check storage, the export folder or gallery permission, and try exporting again.
Does reinstalling CapCut fix a stuck export?
Only if the app itself is damaged. Duplicate or back up your project first; most stuck exports are fixed by lower settings, more storage or replacing one clip.
