Premiere Pro how-to
How to stabilize shaky video in Premiere Pro (Warp Stabilizer)
Short answer
Select the clip and apply Warp Stabilizer from Effects > Video Effects > Distort (double-click it or drag it onto the clip). Analysis starts immediately in the background and a banner shows progress. If Premiere says the clip and sequence dimensions don't match, nest the clip and apply Warp Stabilizer to the nest.

Wait for analysis
Analysis begins in the background; a banner shows analysis, then a second one shows stabilizing. You can keep working while it runs.
Fix the size error
Warp Stabilizer needs the clip dimensions to match the sequence. If they don't, right-click the clip, choose Nest, and apply the effect to the nested sequence.
Tune the result
In Effect Controls, lower Smoothness if the picture wobbles or crops too much, or set Result to No Motion for a locked-off shot.
If it doesn't work
| What you see | Fix |
|---|---|
| Error: clip dimensions must match the sequence | Nest the clip and apply Warp Stabilizer to the nest, per Adobe. |
| Wobbly, jelly-like picture | Lower Smoothness, or change Method to Position, Scale, Rotation. |
| Too much crop and zoom | Lower Smoothness; stronger stabilising needs a bigger crop. |
| Speed change won't work with it | Nest the clip first, then apply Warp Stabilizer to the nest. |
Questions people ask

Effects panel > Video Effects > Distort > Warp Stabilizer.
Why does Warp Stabilizer take so long?
