Burned-in captions are cut off or hidden behind UI - causes and fixes
Burned-in captions usually fail when their position overlaps the destination's UI overlay (caption track, profile, like stack, share bar) or when the canvas crop clips them. Move the captions into the safe zone and re-export; the destination's safe-zone data lives in the shared registry.

- Open the playback view and the original at the same time.
- Identify whether the captions are clipped by the canvas crop or covered by the player UI.
- Check the destination's safe-zone percentages for the device you preview on.
Likely causes
- Captions sit in the bottom UI overlay
Most short-form players reserve the bottom third for captions + UI; placing text there invites overlap.
- Canvas crop clipped the captions
A 9:16 crop of a wider source can clip captions placed near the edges.
- Captions are too small at the viewing size
Captions readable on a desktop monitor can become unreadable on a phone.
