✳ SUBTITLE PROBLEMS
Uploaded subtitle file is not showing - causes and fixes
Subtitle files can be silently rejected when the format is invalid, the language code is wrong, or the destination has no caption track enabled for the surface. Validate the file with Caption QA before uploading; double-check that the destination has CC turned on for that surface.
Check these first
- Run the subtitle file through Caption QA to detect format / timing issues.
- Check that the destination has captions enabled for the exact surface.
- Confirm the language code matches the destination's accepted codes.
Likely causes
- Subtitle file is invalid SRT/VTT
Cues with zero duration, overlapping times, or bad timestamps are rejected silently.
- Captions not enabled for this surface
Some destinations turn captions off by default; you must toggle them on.
Fix it
- Validate with Caption QA before upload
Fix any flagged issues, then re-upload.
Validate with Caption QA before upload - Toggle captions on for the surface
