CapCut how-to

How to do text to speech on CapCut (phone, PC, web)

Updated 6 steps2 min read

Short answer

Add text to the video, select the text layer in the timeline and tap Text-to-speech (desktop: open the Text-to-speech tab in the right panel). Choose a voice and language, then generate: CapCut adds the spoken audio as a new clip under the video. Text-to-speech runs in the cloud, so it needs an internet connection, and it only works on a selected text layer.
